    Dear All,

A rainy day and night so a chance to look for details.

I like selective colour too. I know some consider it old but that does not mean it can't be used to good effect.

The red of the phone box is very rich

The white of the illuminated sign on the phone box is very warm because the white balance doesn't match - I was wondering if anyone thinks that if this were corrected it would improve or detract from the original?

Altering the WB globally to correct the illuminated sign definitely detracts and adds a lot of blue into the glass area. However selecting the sign and using the white picker tool in Levels does work to a degree. For me though the red of the phone box is still too warm. Suppose you would have to decide if it was worth the effort. Don't think its possible in LR2, as you can't alter WB using the adjustment brushes, something I have fairly recently discovered to my disgust

A global correction, as you suggest, would be inappropriate. I was thinking of a correction of the lit areas that would ostensibly be white.

I know the red of the paint is not 'correct' but actually I think its richness and hue is right (and good) for the context of the night scene.

                Hi

Just gone back and had a play in lightroom. You guys are right in that if you try and sort out the light behind telephone you get a lot of blue in the glass and the red moves from how I remember it on the night.

                Best Regards
