Milton Keynes....

I went over to MK on Saturday for a bit of shopping (you can tell it's getting close to Christmas, it's about the only time I do!)

I mentioned to my son that I'd taken a couple of shots with my compact camera - his response was "what the **** is there to photograph in MK", but these statues intrigued me. First up is the group of statues (which I actually took last). I didn't like the busyness behind them, so took the other 2 shots towards the sun. Haven't put them up for critique (as it's the first time I've tried to remove all the background) but comments are welcome.

Well apart from losing some fingers in the 2nd shot you have done pretty good with your background removal. One or two 'left behind marks' can be seen in the last but I think that one is the best.

At this time of the year the light can be very harsh and it looks like you had the same lighting problems I had last Saturday. But the third shot is delightful - maybe a bit more of the residual street detail can be lost - but the luminosity of the background is great

- on seeing that I went off and looked at the original, and think that someone either nicked the fingers or they weren't there in the first place

Don't know about where you are, but certainly wouldn't be able to get something like that today - the weather out there is yuk...
