as some may know, i work in cardiff, and as others may know, cardiff is the home of torchwood.
anyway, they were filming in the oval basin (the filled in dock outside the armadillo , sorry, wales millennium centre) last week (spoiler.....my theory is that part of torchwood blows up) so thought i'd get down there for a butchers on thursday after work, only to find the set had been dismantled. anyway, speak to a lighting crew that were packing away and they tell me that cast and crew will be back later that evening for more filming.
so, trundle home for a few hours, returning at about 2230, fully expecting to turn around and drive back home again.
anyway, find the set they were using and eve myles (gwen cooper in the show) was shooting a scene. cool.
a security guard clocks the gear i'm using and then did his level best to stand in the way. well, that was my take on his actions anyway.
so, grab a few shots here and there, go and watch some pyros they were doing in front of the silver tower, come back, find a different vantage point, resume the game with the guard etc etc.
anyway, the clock has ticked on to about 0015 when everything finally falls into place with the guard not noticing where i was and the other crew parting sufficiently to grab a shot.....
despite how it looks, this isn't posed and is visible light only. i was quite pleased with the result.
