....with the new macro lens. I took this soon after I bought the lens, but have been kinda busy with editing the pics I took at Silverstone that I only got round to downloading last night.....
I haven't put this up for critique, but suggestions are welcome!
Hi Caz. I am going to jump in here. I do not have a macro lens but have only used the macro attached to my camera.
It is a pretty picture, but either you moved or it is out of focus.
The stamens should be pin sharp.
When I first used my macro, I thought that there was something wrong with it. I never thought that it was me not keeping still. Also, I used to zoom in with it, which makes it more difficult to get the exposure and focus correct. More recently I have gone right up to the object (not zoomed) and tried to fill the frame. I have then either/or both, supported my camera or my arm and used the time exposure for 2 seconds. I have very clearer results now. I think I was getting close and then zooming in and it would not focus correctly.
I hope I haven't dampened your spirits, but as a very good photographer, I am sure you can see it is not quite sharp.
Try your lens on the kitchen table with fruit or any object. You can put in on a mini tripod or just a pile of books and let is do its stuff.
Thank you Audrey - I did ask for comments, and you are absolutely right - it's not totally in focus - but I blame that on the breeze there was that day.
I've made a note of your suggestions, because I can't say that I've managed one that's as sharp as I'd like yet - I was warned that it'd be a bit of a steep learning curve! Unfortunately the recently departed ex has gone off with the tripod, and I bought the macro instead
