Anne and I recently returned from a long weekend in Antwerp. Here are some tourist type shots which I hope you enjoy.

De Kathedraal - just part of the inside of this fantastic large structure.
I have lost a little of what I wanted to show due to some correction of barrel distortion.
    . . .

One of the many stained glass windows.
    . . .

...and one of Anne and I at the Middelheim Statue Museum. This was a circular sectioned type structure of I presume plastic which made you look a little thinner on one side but dramatically fatter on the other. Quite fun with its fading effect.
    . . . .

A shot of the Atomium from the top of a tour bus bus - Brussels (return leg)...
    . . .

      Re: Antwerp

I want to like them all barr1e but there just not grabbing me by the balls, if you excuse the expression!
You say you corrected some barrel distortion, I dread to think what they looked like before.
The first image could have been a cracker, why were you not stood in the middle of the walkway? It looks so crooked and awkward it hurts me to look at it!
The second is sooooo colourful and beautiful but not symetrical to the frame.
The third one I just dont get at all, and the fourth is ok as a touristy snap.
Im really sorry mate to be harsh, but I feel you could be shooting alot better pictures than you are doing.
You have a dslr so show me what it can do and make it pay for itself in rewarding you with great images, you just need alot more preactice!
Im gunna have a play with that first shot if you dont mind, its begging for some tweeks!
      cheers
      Ash.

        Re: Antwerp

Ok obviously I cannot alter the point of capture but Ive done a few tweeks to hopfully give you an idea of what I personally would be looking for in an image like this.

I guess you can't please all of the people all of the time. Well I think your example of how it should look leaves a lot to be desired. I have also done a few tweaks, sorry Barr1e, but nothing too drastic. Just a little tilt to the right and a bit of selective exposure adjustment. Finally a wee crop to tidy it up.

Regards Ron. Live each day as if it was your last. One day you will be right. Down sized to Nikon s7000 compact camera.

Barrie, I love the stained glass windows! The colours are magic! I think I would follow Rob's suggestion of tweaking!
