Soaking at high tide

We had a high tide combined with fairly high winds on the west coast of Guernsey last night, There were several people braving the elements to get some pictures, the girl in picture one was standing at the top of the slipway taking a picture when a few seconds later this wave caught both her and her friend



The second picture shows the aftermath and the water heading across the road in my direction, I was crouched down to get the low angle and quickly got up to save myself getting a soaking too!! Sorry the pictures are not sharp but I think this is partly down to the sea spray misting the lens

Good captures Mowgli - I particularly like the second shot because it is unusual to see someone capture a scene like that after the initial breaking of waves on the sea wall (you know what I mean don't you ?) The girls look to be in a pretty precarious position too.

In the second picture, that was the only time the water came across the road, the waves were breaking over the wall further don the road and the ways were rebounding back then meeting the next wave coming in causing some very high breakers, I saw the two of them go to the top of the slipway and just waited to see what would happen, I wasn`t expecting the high wave (and obviously neither were they)

a couple of great action shots there!
I know it isnt critique, but I am positive a little tweak could brighten these nicely.

Thanks for the encouragement, I sent the pictures to our local BBC website and they have included one on their "weather in July section", Its not very often I am in the right place at the right time to get these sort of pics
