A great shot! Love the colours & depth of field but find my eye being attracted to the upper right hand corner & bit of red there as well! What kind of flower is it? Was the DOF enhanced by using selective guassian blur or was this straight out the camera?

no it was straight out of the camera. It is a new camera. and I am playing and trying to learn. so practicing DOF and macro.

I have no idea what flower it is I bought it as a batch of bedding plants. sorry.

Fluffy Penguin, it sounds like your gardening is about as good as mine, I have all these good intentions but no green fingers too. If I see a good flower I take a picture quick as I am not sure how long it will stay around
