I went out last night with the sigma 10-20 mm wide angle lens and came back with these two. This is the new face of Guernsey but I guess it could be just about anywhere in the world. I hope to go out later today and try and capture a well know Guernsey building. hopefully I can capture it from an unusual angle and then from a more well know one ??.
I like the first one the best, the sky over the top is super
regards
Mike
I'd agree, definitely the first one for me. Read a comparison test of this lens recently in Digital Photo Magazine. It got their Gold Award. Had certain issues with the tests, but thats another story
I have now added the building I was talking about this afternoon. This is Castle Cornet a well know land mark here in Guernsey. i have tried to capture it from a different angle then is the norm. Hope you like this one as well.

Thanks Stephen
You will know for sure this is not my normal stuff but it is turning out to be a bit of fun. Do yo know which issue the test was in and what was the issue with the test.

Think it was the Spring issue, the one before the current one anyway.
My issue with the group test was that for me the Canon EFS 10-22 got 5*'s in all categories except Value for Money. The most important criteria for any lens IMO should be Image Quality and the Canon got 5*'s The Sigma got 4. However it got 5 for Value for money because it was much cheaper than the Canon. The Sigma which was rated lower than the Canon on image quality won the test, it would appear because it was cheaper. To me this seems wrong as it clearly was not as good a lens as the Canon
Yes I have seen that before in different mags. It does make a bit of a joke with the reviews. I have seen it done with cameras as well. I think I may still have that issue upstairs will have a look later.
OK Mike I know that you cannot win them all. Here is a more well know view of the castle.
Had another go at the castle shot. I think this one works better as it takes away some of the foreground but still leaves you some as a lead in.
Oh and have some good news well its good to me. I have sold a print of one of my photos for the first time. Some one saw it on my website and emailed me about it. I have had it printed asan A2 and hope to find out how the guy likes it when it turns up on his doorstep in a week or so. Here is the photo that he ordered.
