  • Weathered

Sorry have not posted anything on here of late but I have been looking in every day if not 2 or 3 times a day. Most of the stuff I am doing of late is for our local camera club but because two other members on this forum are also members in the same club I cannot post my stuff here. This is a photo I entered into club today under the theme of weathered. It was taken with a canon 50 mm 1.8. The A4 print of this is very sharp but I am just very happy with the depth of field from this lens.

I wonder if f8 might have done a better job though Peter, I'm not so sure about the oof front edge of the loop. Just my personal opinion, not being dogmatic about it

          Thats ok Stephen

Yes it could have done a better job at f8, but having just picked up the lens a few days before I was having fun playing with the dof. I think this may have been one of the things that sold it at camera club on the night.

Will not start a new post but will also post these up. I also placed first with these two. These are entered in the 6x4 class which can be the hardest to do as you are not allowed to photoshop them in any way. They must be more or less what the camera saw. The first one was something that had to be yellow and the next was anything that was to do with clocks and time. The first one was called "just lemons" and the second was called "In the midnight hour".

Nice ones Peter. This camera club is certainly getting you away from shooting bikes all the time

That is so true Stephen. Last year was not really a good one for me and the camera due to work. That has now changed as I have switched jobs and now have so much more time for the camera. I joined the club at the start of last year but only went a few times, so this year I have jumped in and entered each round. The funny thing is the first round was open so what else could I put forward but one of my sand racing photos in the a4 class. guess what it came second. I have not been out shooting much sport and to be true I think it has done me good, in that it has opened my eyes to other things.
