Hi Pops - you have the 50-500 Bigma? I had a chance to use one of these for the first time at the weekend and I was quite impressed. I'd heard some mixed reports about the AF, but the HSM seemed to work pretty well for me. Here's an example (420mm f/7.1, 1/640th, ISO 400):

No Ian I don't have the 50-500 Bigma.
I use the Canon 100-400 L USM for all my birdie shots.
Your example looks fine to me, like the dof
If you know of a Bigma going free I would give it a try

Hi Pops! Good to see you back again! Magical pics as usual! Thanks for sharing! BTW I have taken a couple of shots of a couple of our birdies....nothing anywhere good as yours....no comparison actually!

WOW...you mean these are actually yours?
How many have you got?
Do you have a big aviary for them?
