  • Kaydi in Thought

This is another of Kaydi on her 1st birthday. Played around with to isolate the face and given an old film type look which I really like now Ive done it.

I can't believe that no one replied to this...

I like the image, very moody and thoughtful and I like the light in her eyes

Cheers Caz, Im glad you like it, ive learnt not to be bothered when nobody replies to an image you post, I just tell myself either its been missed or simply its that superb that everyone is jealous that they did'nt take the shot and wish it was there's

I really love this picture. The child is far away somewhere in her own little world and you have taken it at a good angle too, there is so much good about this picture.

I like the dark isolation effect around the head, how easy was that to do?

I did look. But there is a feeling of sadness which made me feel uncomfortable with one so young. Perhaps it's the tones. I know children' expressions can be momentary and no doubt you were quick to capture this one before it was swept away.

Only just seen this Ash I agree with Blithe in that there is a disturbing aspect about it.
Almost like a photograph from one of the poor country's that are always asking for charity.
It certainly made an impact which is what you no doubt wanted.

Hi ekkl, just realised you actually asked a question, right, mostly the shot is as took, natural light, altered the tone, there where some things on the left of the shot that were distracting but easily cloned out, as ive just mentioned in another thread, I feel on shots like this its so important to isolate the face, you dont really want any background drawing the eye away so use a big aperture and focus on the eyes, give it a go and Im sure you can acheive pictures just like this. This will be going in Kaydi's portfolio, which when she is old enough to appreciate photography, I hope she will love.
              cheers
              Ash.
