Re: Trying out a new lens today
We both like them too and I'm sitting here roflmao because we have endless similar shots to that first one. They were all collected down the years when David's been trying out lenses - some of them new but most of them acquired from 'bargain bins' (well that was always his story anyway).Originally posted by Ian View PostA new lens arrived today so I spent a rather frantic half an hour shooting test shots as the sun was succumbing to the clouds this afternoon
Anyway, a liked a couple of quirky ones, so here they are:

That first one has everything - colour, texture, shapes and a good pile of junk to savour.
The second one is just so funny! He's waiting so nicely and we're both creased up laughing him. Trust you to spot him! You should file that one with with your squirrel paparazzi.

Thanks Stephen!Originally posted by Stephen View PostNice photos Ian, I like them. That Canal area near your office is turning out to be a great place for testing and photography in general. The colours and sharpness of these two is spot on.
Here's another. It's taken at f/2 - the lens is a Digital Zuiko 14-35 f/2.0 (28-70 equivalent).

This has had about a third cropped off.

Beautiful, and a good crop if you don't mind me saying so. The focus and sharpness is spot on again not to mention great bokeh. I've said it before but many people don't appreciate wide aperture lenses, and what they can do for the creative process. Bet this one ain't cheap thoughOriginally posted by Ian View PostThanks Stephen!

Re: Trying out a new lens today
That is hardly the place for those Primroses Ian ... get em planted now.
The colours have certainly come through with vibrancy. Do you know I haven't got 1 single wide lens. Guess I should think about getting one-------------------------
