Re: Sunrise
Absolutely beautiful shot, love the colours. I'm going up in one next week
and hope I get something half as good as what you've shown us so far - there's been some cracking shots

Re: Sunrise
Thanks Caz & Blithe for taking time to look at my shots & more importantly, to comment! Caz, you will be 'blown away' as we Ozzies say for real enjoyment!
Make sure you are fully prepared photographically the night before! I found it helped taking 2 cameras! There's no such thing as being able to use a tripod & most shots are 'grabbed' so to speak! I guess you could use a monopod, but I was paranoid about dropping things overboard
I could kick myself that I didn't think of putting one of the cameras on burst mode, where it takes 5 or 6 shots or so in succession! The other thing is to make sure you have a polarizer filter on the camera before going up, if its an early morning ride as most are! Wear a shirt or jacket that has big pockets to put many things, like filters, etc, etc so they are close to hand! One imagines that up there is a lot colder than on the ground, it aint, especially when they put the burners on to get more lift! The serene tranquility is something out of this world, as you waft about on the thermals! Have a wonderful time Caz! I'm looking forward to seeing some of your shots in the not tooo distant future!

Re: Sunrise
Thanks Jocelyn - I've only just got the camera, so the only filters I've invested in so far are UV and no time to go shop now - flying out Saturday morning (just got back from lunch).Originally posted by Jocelyn Walker View PostThanks Caz & Blithe for taking time to look at my shots & more importantly, to comment! Hope I get on better than when I went to Frankfurt over Christmas - the flight was delayed, the weather was grey the whole time I was there so the pics weren't up to much.
However, the forecast for Luxor is good - a bit hot for me, but hey, it'll be different. Fly out to Cairo for 2 days Sat, then 3 days Luxor, 3 days Hurghada - demob happy and ready to go (when I've started packing!
