Re: For Christmas.....
What on earth is it? A present? A crime scene? Some kind of protection? Or is that crane in the distance going to pick it up by the ribbon round it and transport it off somewhere?
An interesting image - got my imagination goingcarolannphotos.smugmug.com / webleedmusicmedia.com

Incidently, this was taken in Cardiff just down the road from where Torchwood is filmed, so it may be something to do with that.

Re: For Christmas.....
weird init? i walk past that building most days and hadn't even spotted it'd had a fetish make-over.
just goes to show how much you don't see on your own patch....you tend to notice new additions and conspicuous absentees, but when minor changes occur you blank them out. the building (similar to an olde worlde small station masters office), iirc, is listed, hence why it's the only one that is there. it's pretty dark naturally, so with it being covered in black plastic it wasn't a big enough change for me to notice.

I wish I had known, I went to the Dr Who exhibition (big fan with a big scarf) last week, a 300mile round trip, and it only took about 15minutes to get round the exhibit!
It was nice to see Cardiff though, and all the places that I recognised from watching Torchwood. I will of course be posting one or two pictures when I get time. Why is it that time seems so short at the moment.....now if only I had a Tardis......

Re: For Christmas.....
aye. also walk past both the main and back entrances to torchwood most days. only thing with living local to it is you tend to play the "where did they film that?" game rather than watch the prog!
dr who exhib - walked through it a few times when it first opened (including opening day) and also when you didn't have to pay for the privilege. size and time wise, i didn't think it was that much different from the one i saw in longleat as a kid. in reality it could really do with more space to grow as more and more new episodes are created.
quite amusing to see how cardiff bay has changed. spent an entire summer surveying around there in '88 ready for the barrage project. the regeneration in the last 20 years, both in the bay area and the city, has been phenomenal.
