  • Something to chew on

Things have been slow on here recently, at least thats the impression I get. I've not had much to put up myself I suppose, but there really doesn't seem to have been much to get excited about. Anyway, because I've no new personal stuff, thought I'd break one of my rules and post some stuff from a job I did yesterday.

I have a client who owns a couple of family orientated pub/restaurant/hotel establishments, any time they need new photography they get in touch. On this occasion they are in the process of doing their new Spring/Summer menus. I go along and set up my portable studio lights, the Chef creates the plated meal, and I photograph it. It goes without saying I really enjoy the job. I wouldn't class it as high powered food photography as you see in glossy mags, but they are really pleased with the results and they do look good when put on the menus, which will last till autumn. Its on the strength on the image that the dishes will often sell.

I was going to start a new Assignment with these, but food has already been done. If anyone wants to add pics of plated meals though feel free and I might move the thread to the Assignments forum

    Re: Something to chew on

Well I was going to have baked beans on toast for tea today as its a quick turn around today because I have to run my youngest to football soon. Having seen these I think I may well have to cook something else when I come back later. They do look good and I bet it does help to sell the meals. Oh and i guess it does have the odd perk in that you do not go home hungry.

Geez they all look so tempting and delicious!

I don't think anyone would want to have seen a plateful of the thrown together chicken casserole we just polished off. Maybe I'll grab a picci of the next chicken kebab we tuck into though - either from the pale yellow polystyrene box or on the paper plates we have stored in the camper .. specially for that purpose.
