    Re: Room in an Asylum

Don't worry too much about the pics not being up to much.

The important thing is getting out there and documenting these places before they go, and of course learning from your mistakes photo-wise. Last week at Hellingly I came home with 79 pics on my memory card but I must have deleted just as many trying different things out. It is all a learning curve!

Your photos can only get better and exploring these places is a great way of spending a few hours combing photography and seeing something new. I love doing it.

I will be off to Cane Hill later this month to document that, I can't wait to go there it looks fantastic.

Your always better off downsizing from the original then sharpening the final picture size to suite.
Its not really something I would take a picture of but I can see the apeal, cropped and converted to b&w, then I would start to be interested I havent read any of the replies but I can post a different take on the image if you like. Let me no, I dont want to rain on ya flame as it were!
        cheers

Ok this is my take on the image, not that yours is rubbish, I just think it begs b&w.

Save it to your desktop. Then you simply double click on it and Google Earth will load with all old Hospitals and Asylums on it. Obviously you need Google Earth on your PC first!
Hope the file was of some use, it was a pleasure researching it. Incidentally have a look at the website for more Asylum photographs among other things. Also check back soon for more Asylum updates of a BIG site that has been comprehensively photographed.

Glad the file was of some assistance, feel free to distribute. Credits to the authors are in the intro files.

                many thanks
