Re: Moon
Hi Caz, looking at the exif data, your camera has a max focal length of 210mm (equivalent). With that in mind, the result is pretty good. You can clearly see the crater detail in the lower part of the moon. It would probably benefit from a faster shutter speed to reduce the exposure in order to bring out the highlight detail. I don't mean to 'critique' but as you've produced a promising result, I thought I'd siuggest a way make it even better

Re: Moon
No problem Ian, all advice gratefully received!! I tried various combinations of shutter speed/aperture and thank goodness for exif data because I always think I'll remember what I've done.......Originally posted by Ian View PostHi Caz, looking at the exif data, your camera has a max focal length of 210mm (equivalent). As you say, my camera is a compact (I'm not going to say 'only'), so it does have a smaller sensor and a limited optical zoom - although when I bought it last year 6x was considered pretty good!
I'll have another go when I've got over this cold - trying to avoid outside at the moment...carolannphotos.smugmug.com / webleedmusicmedia.com
