Thanks for the link, Pol. So it was made to the 1/3 scale. I could enjoy the steam sound as well. The real speed looks like 25mph but the sound gives an impression it was more than 100km/hour. You really have a good tradition to keep them (or various old & good things) in quite a good shape!

It happens quite a lot when he's in Japan, especially away from the main cities where they don't see so many foreigners, but he usually obliges because he says "Japanese children are always so polite and they also thank me and bow to me"

That particular son is 19th century regarding children. He usually thinks they should be seen and not heard, just like he wasn't when he was a kid. I think it's the polite Japanese bow that pleases him most.

He's never likely to encounter that sort of 'homage' over here - that's for sure!
