Re: Jay
Now is the time when they rely on garden feeders. The berries have all but gone and the bugs are hiding out from the frosts. My garden looked like an open air aviary this morningOriginally posted by coupekid View Postmy word it looks frosty there Pops!
I am suprised the poor little jay hasnt got a scarf on!
Loving those vibrant blue wings.
I havent seen 'ratty' in the garden for a while now, so I think it may be time to get the bird seed out and try and crack some shots off!
I make sure all the feeders are well topped up and still go out with scraps and such for the open tables. This last 2 mornings I have had to thaw out the bird bath.-------------------------

Re: Jay
Definately the same one. I had him in sight for a good 10 minutes. The colours on the 3rd and 4th is the sun hitting the treated fence at the bottom of the graden. In front of the fence I have some lattice work and it is this that causes the pattern. Takes another hour before it reaches ground level.Originally posted by Stephen View PostGreat stuff Pops, the first and second actually look like a slightly different bird than the other two, must be the angle. Interesting B/G on the third & Fourth
Interesting to see you had some frost today too. We are due for some tonight
The last 2 mornings have been 4 below and it will be same again tomorrow morning. Looks beautiful first thing.-------------------------

Re: Jay
Another lovely set and an attractive bird. I was wondering what the colour was in the last two, it's not your usual background for birds. Much warmer than the second one. We haven't had the hard frosts up here yet, but no doubt it won't be long. Frozen fingers filling the feeders.

It is the sun shining onto a treated fence. About 8 feet this side of the fence is some lattice work...it's this that caused the pattern. The sun hadn't yet reached the area's for the other shots.-------------------------

Re: Jay
Hi Pops, It does look Cold.
yes you certainly captured the beauty of these birds, I personaly think that the out of focus color of the sun and the pattern of the trellis in the last two enhances the images and the beauty of the Jay's.Catch Ya Later
