Speaking of which, how can you stop the sky from looking like that?

I have taken loads like this recently but I cant do a thing about the sky looking like that. Any clues, tips

If the sky is white with no real cloud form there is not a great deal that can be done, no detail is no detail. However if you have a more attractive sky with some form to it, you may need to underexpose in order to capture that detail. Then try to lighten the foreground or rest of the image in your software by selectively altering levels. Sometimes a neutral density graduated filter can be used to hold back the sky and keep some detail. THIS photo is an example of what I mean
