Once again Pops some cracking photos - I do admire your skill and I should imagine patience. Can you share some of your 'modus operandi' with us on lenses, exposures etc also whether you use a hide at all. ?

The exif info is intact Dennis so you can read the settings used for each shot.
Just in case....Opanda have a cute little prog (free) that allows you to right click on an image and view the exif info of that image. The prog attaches an option to the right click popup menu. If you are already aware...sorry...if not, you can find it Here

I don't use a hide at all. I am usually sat in the doorway of my shed with the tripod half in and half out of the doorway. ( I should say, 2 legs outside and 1 inside) If it is raining I just lift the whole thing inside. My main multi feeder station is around 12 feet away and directly underneath my nieghbours overhanging plum tree so they have a quick escape should anything bother them. I have no secrets or tricks. I guess most of it is down to familiararity and patience. The birds are quite used to me being there and I get totally ignored. They even ignore my 2 yorkies. The Magpies in particular will go up very close to the youngest and it is great to see.
Can't really help much. Fortunately I have the time and the patience required. Some afternoons I may take up to 200 shots, another time it may be less than a dozen and I'm just as happy watching them as I am taking photographs. Be patient, be relaxed and try to always move slowly around them. I would rather miss shots than make sudden movements that may frighten them. Might be an idea to just watch them for a few days, learn their flightpaths to and from the feeders and let them get used to you just being there.

Love the detail in the plumage of the first, but the second shot is very cute. Cropped just under the claw would make a lovely square card. And I guess the last ones mum must love him/her. I'm glad we don't molt.

Love the first shot Pops - and that's a handy little program I'd not come across before. Shame it doesn't work with IE as well as Firefox, or am I missing something?

I think you are missing something as I have been using it with IE for ages.

I particularly like the shot of the Dunnock. It's not often you get an opportunity to catch a clear, higher view of them. Ours are almost always half hidden as they blend in with the bark mulch or on the soil.

It was very obliging of it to perch and pose so nicely.

I use IE Stuart and it works just fine.
Download and simply install. I have just checked and it shows up in the right click menu of both IE and Firefox with just the single install.

It's OK now Pops - I think I just needed to re-start IE to get the option. Too bloody impatient by half me...

Pops, what happened to that poor pigeon....its neck is longer than usual...beak a bit twisted & has a problem with its pupil...let alone the feather quills still forming after a moult! I've never seen a pigeon look so ugly! We had a blackbird around about last year that looked really scrappy & scruffy like that & poor thing got picked on by every other blackbird in the neighbourhood! I called it scruffy & took to feeding him, so he got quite used to me! He couldn't find a mate looking as he did! Pecking order sure had him at the lowest rung!

Send your Blackbird over here....he can start an exclusive club with my Pigeon.
I also have a Jackdaw with a twisted beak.
