What to do with this.......

Hi all. This is my friend Nikki. She was having a ciggi in my garden the other day when I walked through the kitchen and noticed her talking to my other half who was sitting on a bench just out of shot.

I had the camera in my hand and pointed it at her from waist height whilst I walked past as she goes mad if you point a camera at her!

Anyhow, this is the picture as it turned out. Didn't know it was set on black and white either, I must have touched something whilst carrying the camera around!

I do like the picture, reminds me of something, can't put my finger on it but a french theme comes to mind!!

What can be done to enhance the picture?

Ho Ekkl,
the first thing i would do, would be be to crop off most of the negative space on the right.

Then experiment a little with things like contrast, grain, etc..... its a nice shot, and there is bags of things that could be done with this shot, sadly, I cant demonstrate at present, as I am slogging away at work!

I think Gina got the crop spot on and bought out facial expression of contemplation. The harsh contrast works well but the area of skin just below the neck does seem to have lost it's texture and now looks blown out.

It was a bit of a challenge to be honest as I was getting into contrast and brightness conflicts. I agree about the blown out area. Perhaps someone else could enhance it in a different way? Why not have a go?
