Hi Andrew, you should be very proud of these ; and they are very different in style. Any particular reason you went for mono?

Great shots and effective post processing and toning. I particularly like the standing stones shot. Having seen your original I can see what a great job you have managed to do. The only thing that worries me slightly is what appears to be the sun over the right shoulder of the girl on the right. This does not match well with the direction of the shadows. Again having seen the original I know you haven't added a sun, so I'm not sure whats going on there

With the second shot, what really becomes apparent is how comfortable these kids are with each other. They seem to be a tight knit group with lots of love for each other. The back lighting is sublime

Very nice photos. What I think Stephen has referred to is a shaft of light that has broken through the clouds. The Sun is obviously more to the right of the picture.

Now I've seen the colour version of the group shot, I prefer that. The mono for the first one is excellent, though. My only slight concern is that the young lad is quite a way in the distance and so it's difficult to make him out.

But this isn't the critique forum!

I like both shots very much indeed but the second one captured a superb example of family love.

I think everything has been said. They are a superb set of photographs. I think they work very well in mono and I think the stones are fantastic way of photographing them in order to be a bit different.
