The second one seems to be the most effective. Will have to learn how to do that. Could be very useful for printed Xmas cards etc.

I think it would be a matter of trial and error on selecting suitable photographs. Some I tried it with looked terrible.

I love it - agree with Ron that No.2 works best; but this is exactly the kind of thing we should see more of with digital imaging

Will agree with the others its number two for me as well. I have seen some great stuff done with frames like that. In the ones that I am on about you would have stuff breaking free from the frames. Have seen it done with planes, people, flowers just about anything you can think of really.

Just had to have a go at this. Over done the blur on the background but not to bad for first attempt.

It get easier as you go.
Your right about the excessive blur. I only used a setting of 1

                  Superb!

And I think the second one works etter mainly because of the drop shadow.

                  I love the idea!

I know what you mean by 'Breaking free of the frames' peter.
It is a bit more complicated but once you have done a couple it becomes easier. The important bit is selecting a suitable photograph. Flowers are always a good choice to practice with because you can use the foilage for the breaking out.
