Re: Seascape
Most photo editing programs like Adobe Photoshop or Elements or Paint Shop Pro
have a facility which allow you to rotate the picture left or right by any number of degrees which you specify. It is a matter of having a guess at how many degrees in the first instance then if you do not get it right first go then do 'undo' and try again adjusting the angle until you get it correct. If you pull down a horizontal guide line against which you can judge the slope of the horizon you will find this helps. Once you have got the horizon level you will have to trim the edges of the picture to regain a proper rectangle, which means that you will lose a bit of the edges. Hope this helps.

Re: Seascape
Another very good seascape, I do love the sea, and to walk along the shoreline, Just a minor point, the sea is slightly running down hill left to right, there wont be any water left if you don't correct it.

Hi, again just read the other posts,
If you have Paint shop pro there is a tool that lets you/helps you to correct and straighten the image, it is near the top of the tool bar on the left of your screen.
In P/Shop make sure the rulers are visible by going to View, and make sure there is a tick by rulers, these rulers can be pulled down, across or up the image and placed where required, the background image can be promoted to a full layer (by double clicking on the layer thumbnail image and clicking OK to call it layer 0) or use a copy layer and can then be rotated to correct the slope. the image can then be cropped back into shape.
Hope this helps

Yes, seems reasonable to me.Originally posted by Tinka View PostTo give a little more detail.
There is an even better method in Photoshop - you use the 'Ruler' tool (looks like a little ruler
) to draw a line parallel with th horizon or other straight object (horizontal or vertical) and this tells the image rotation function how many degrees to rotate and in which direction - practically no guess work required.

Re: Seascape
Thanks to all of you for the instructions...Dennis, Tinka & Ian. I don't mind in the least having instructions duplicated or triplicated, as each person has his/her little bit to add! I am an eclectic, therefore appreciate the viewpoints! I will try all methods & see which one works best for me, ta! I think I've tried the one Ian advised with the ruler & have had endless problems getting past the line being drawn

Re: Seascape
As soon as you have drawn the line, go to the menu option for image rotation (Rotate Canvas) then select the 'Arbitrary angle' option and you will see there will be a figure already entered for you, so just hit 'OK'.Originally posted by Jocelyn Walker View PostThanks to all of you for the instructions...Dennis, Tinka & Ian. I agree with Ron!Here is the link:http://picasa.google.com/download/
When I have to straighten a picture this is my favorite method! The grid lines make it a snap! Good luck!
