    Hi all,
Here is a crop of a portrait (I am not allowed to post the full image) that I took on Ilford XP2 color technology 35mm film, taken on a Minolta slr camera and a Tamron 35 to 70 zoom lens, not perfect but I always was impressed with the quality and detail achievable with XP1 and XP2, in some ways I miss the film days, but I sure do not miss the costs involved.
thoughts and Comments welcome and appreciated.

I rarely used XP2 as I processed my own B/W film. This had to be processed in C41 chemistry.

Is this a scan of a print or the neg?

I ask as I feel it has lost something along the way. There is very little skin texture or true sharpness to the image which I would maintain would not be the case had you used a digital camera today.

I also don't think that it is as pin sharp as your usual images. I agree with Stephen it does appear to have lost something. Sorry.

Understandably, eye contact is important & this pic illustrates that point, but somehow the eye on right is lacking quite a bit of the expected close up detail! I'm lost as to why you could not post a full face image though!

          Re: Eye Contact

Looks a bit flat and the slight tilt seems to have made the eyes look unequal

            Hi all,
Many thanks for looking, and your observations, I did say it was not perfect, I posted the image as I was looking through some old photo's and was pleasently reminded of the detail achievable with the old XP1 and 2 it was the detail in the eyes, the lines/veins etc that brought the memories back, the image is a scan of a print that has seen better days, If I could find the Neg It may be possible to produce a better image. I did not edit this crop of the scan in any way, I did however produce a print for hanging on the wall, which is a big inprovement and does show some punch. I cannot show the full image as I have been requested not to due to circumstances I cannot discuss.
