This guy has been driving me nuts for the past few days. He visits 2/3 times per day but is never still and doesn't seem to favour any particular area.

    .
He knows the nuts are up there but not how to get at them. I have learnt that he is a groundfeeder.

He doesn't appear to like Blackbirds. You can just see the tail of one he chased off.

Coming in to land before hiding behind the trellis...again

He looks like a happy chappie!

I like storybook of pictures, too.

    Well done!

The first one is priceless! You can hear his brain ticking over as he's trying to work it out.

We occasionally leave a few chopped peanuts on the mesh bird table for them and they've usually managed ok on those - or we also leave them in the hollow on the top of cut down tree. I also had a prop made from a thick branch with drilled hollows .. but the prop got damaged in a recent storm. You can be sure he'll spot a few peanuts on the ground too though!

Lovely birds - fascinating face, beak and eyes.

Very nice Pops, especially the first one. I like how he has his tail on the ground and he is leaning back relaxing and letting the tail take the weight.
