This was the Misty Fiords float plane excursion which I booked over the internet before the holiday. It came highly recommended and was better than the ones done through Princess etc. The owner and pilot landed on one of the fiords and we all got out to walk around. Unfortunately it was a tad damp that morning and there was a fair bit of cloud, but we got some great views and you were able to take in something of the scale of the area. We had only been out a minute and some said 'Look there's a bear over their' It was a black bear just grazing a short distance away. It was the first one the pilot had seen this year, as they have not long been out of hibernation. Unforunately I was unable to get a photo with my camera, but thats another story

    How exciting!

Shame about the bear shot but the main thing is that you have the image recorded in yer head. That's wot Gert always says when I'm cheesed off about missing something.

Great gallery Stephen. You look to have had a wonderful time. The glaciers and mountains are so crisp and white like icing sugar on a cake.

Pity about the bear, that just about happened to us. All I got was the baby bear's backside running after mum into the wood. I think it is only me that know what it is.

Did you take any pics of Vancouver or is that the next instalment?

This is when the baby Panasonic hanging round your neck comes into play

Yes took plenty of pics in Vancouver, but haven't included any yet.

I got a shot of the bear on the Panasonic but with only a 3x zoom its pretty small and fairly pathetic looking so haven't posted it.

These are a couple of shots taken as the sun rose over the narrow straits of the Inside Passage. I reckon I must have still not adjusted to the time difference at this point

Now they are nice, such soothing warm colours. Make an interesting diptych for printing and hanging.

                Hi Stephen,
Fantastic Eagle shot, the detail is superb, the image fair jumps out at you.
Oh and by the way, Keep that lens, When I was useing my 35mm gear I sold my long lenses because they did not get used that often, an action I regretted very soon after when certain situations/oportunities presented themselves.
