  • Hey! Watch where you're going!

    Fishy near miss.

I started a tropical aquarium a year ago and here are a couple of the characters that live there - an Orange-finned Danio (Kyathit) on the right and a Zebra Danio in typical frenetic near-collision action!

You would need a lot of them for a decent meal, A nice but mundane image, unless you are into tropical fish that is.

Fair enough; these fish are only two inches long and they are constantly on the move. I used ISO800 and was pleasantly surprised how well the shot turned out. I'm a bit unsure about the 'mundane' tag!

        Hi Ian,
No insult intended, a friend of mine is into tropical fish, and he drives me crazy showing me pictures of fish in his magazines.

          Haha! the real truth emerges

I have a whole album dedicated to fishy shots in the gallery, but I'm sensitive to the boredom factor, hence their separation

            haha!

            Brilliant, I love it.

(By the way, the pedant in me hates the expression 'Near miss' I cringe everytime I read it in the paper! If you nearly miss something.......surely you hit it! therefore a near miss, is actually a hit! )

Haha! Near does not mean 'nearly' - it means 'close to'.
