It's a completely different picture, but I agree with you

Superb perspective ..... a little kid's eye view of the entrance to the shop as his mum took him in to buy another model.
        Thanks

I've just learned that this place was also a butcher's for many years, so no doubt the low perspective would've been shared by many a hungry dog waiting at the door for a scrap of meat or a bone from the butcher himself...

It possibly looks soft in that upper corner because of the vignette I applied, but having used f11 and a true 17mm FL, I'd expect the shot to look fairly consistently sharp throughout, albeit with some subtle falloff in the immediate foreground and at the upper edges. The ISO was 250, but I turned it up to 400 for the churchyard shots because the light was getting worse by the minute.

Yeah, I have the 17-40mm f4 L which on my 5D means I can benefit from a true 17mm, which is a nice thing to have. On my 1D Mk2 (and on Stephen's), the 17mm equates to a true 22mm, so it's effectively a 22mm-52mm zoom on those cameras. I think on your Pentax a 10mm will give you a true 15mm, so you'll be able to get even wackier wide angle images than I can achieve with my 5D. You lucky lady...

Hope you have a lot of fun with it.

Here's the link to what they'd all been saying .... David told me to stop worrying and says he'll do all the phoning and exchanging if I get a dud one.. which he insists is "highly unlikely anyway".

The K10D has a 1.6 crop factor so I should get a 16mm equiv. WA will be a completely new and untried experience for me and I'm really looking forward to experimenting. It should arrive early next week and we're planning on going out to try it if the weather isn't too bad, otherwise I'll just have to experiment in WA 'artistic remodelling' the house.

I'll certainly be having fun over the next week or so - that's for sure.

My 10-20mm arrived and I needn't have worried. It seems very good optically, going by the first few test snaps.

I've already used it make the campervan bend and turn a corner on a straight driveway without turning the wheels ... as well as turning David into a pinheaded, pregnant munchkin.

            Wot phun!!

Thought at least you would have posted a few so we can enjoy the fun.

                No way!! I wanna live.

The weather's appalling. I'm hoping it might improve later this week so that we might be able to get out and about to try it out properly. I'll start a new thread and post anything I get that seems reasonable.

I've never had a true WA before so I'm finding it very interesting - also very strange at times ..... LOL
