Fantastic Ian. Was it is Bangkok? We went to a night market and iirc they were frying scorpians. A very exciting, memorable and colourful evening.

Thanks, Audrey - this was on a main road leading to the north of Thailand from Bangkok. It mainly sold fruit - so no frying scorpions I'm afraid!

We did see ant larvae on sale as a delicacy in one market

I wrote down all the things they were frying - our tour guide, a Thai, gave me this list:

        Fried ... ...

        Scorpian
        bamboo worms,
        cricket,
        frogs,
        crabs,
        silk worms,
        fish skin
        grasshopper

I am attaching a photo my husband took.

          It's another world for me.
          Doesn't look very busy though.
