This small glade overlooking the oilseed rape field nr my home , is one of my favorite places .
Last week i heard the hum of chainsaws and came out to this , one of the 3 trees that make up the glade had been felled , yes it was rotten but the scene has changed now forever .

The appearance of a yellow landscape at this time of year used to mesmerise me but, like most of us now, we take it for granted.

We have a modest, but good length garden at home and it used to have three mature sycamore trees and a large cherry. Unfortunately, one by one they have had to come down for varous reasons and the main branch of one spontaneously fell across two of our neighbours' gardens, crunching fences along the way, but no other damage, thankfully. The rest of the tree was deemed unsafe and has had to be felled and our once shady garden is no left with a couple of evergreens and a weeping willow. The garden's character has completely changed. The grass on the lawn isn't complaining though!

      Hi Bigbob
Still a lovely view, views change and evolve over time naturally, it is just that we dont see the change, as it evolves slowly, that is unless man interferes to speed up the process as in this case, at least this was a constructive and safety decision, and speeded up a process that would have happened any way, and you could have been under the tree when it fell
At least the view remains pleasent and not a motorway or housing estate. YET
