    I really like the first one because you have the pigeon's head pin sharp while much of the rest of the picture is blurred in a slightly dreamy sort of way.

    It's also an action shot Pigeons aren't particularly popular and a dove in the same pose would have been a lot more attractive, but the effect you have achieved is very interesting.

      Thanks Ian.
      There was a great deal of anticipation with that one. I had seen him land and just knew he wasn't comfortable with his perch. He turned around a few times, went up on his toes and that's when I hit the shutter. A nanosecond later and I would have snapped an empty branch
