This one is straight from the camera...just resized and compressed slightly for the forum. Just imagine what you could do with it.

Haha Yes Pops I ordered it off Ebay last night. Being shipped from HK brand new, for less that they are selling for SH. If I resell it, I could end up making a profit

Hey, hey Stephen!!
What do you mean "IF" you sell it? I didn't think you could justify "Keeping" it!

Wait till you find that varied length focus thingymebobswitch...took me ages to sort it out.
You can toggle the minimum focus distance between 1.8m and 6.5m

So which lens exactly did you buy, Stephen? And please let us know how you get on with your seller.
There are a few ways I could expand *my* gadget bag, but the only thing I managed to buy from HK so far are two decidedly dodgy "Sandisk" CF cards! And *now*, of course, you need only pay a tenner per gig from a legit source.
I have been tempted by DigitalRev (http://www.digitalrev.com/en/index.p...rency_code=GBP) but really, if you *do* get clobbered for the dreaded, there isn't much in it, once you've been down to my local camera shop and screwed him into the carpet!

I also had this lens which I used on my 20d. I did like it but was never that happy with it. I read so much about it having a sweet spot and that you should only use it in really good light. Having said that I have seen some great photos from this lens I guess it was just me not getting the best from it . I also have a new toy that I got last week but have only been out with it once over the weekend due to the weather. I will post a photo or two from it soon .
I have just been looking at the link you posted, and it says "Import duty/VAT/GST may be imposed by your country. The buyer shall be responsible for finding out if any such duties are applicable. "
I bought something from Canada and had to pay 25% of the value of the goods in import taxes. Hope that you don't get stung for it.
Hope that your keeping well, and looking forward to seeing some shots from the new lens when it arrives.

Hi easty, good to hear from you.
I suppose this sort of thing is one of the potential problems you have to accept when buying on Ebay from the Far East. I've done it on a few occasions, including with a lens, without problems. I've heard of people having to pay the tax, and if thats the case then so be it. However if I don't then I'm quids in
As an update the new lens was shipped yesterday. I've been watching its progress on the UPS site. After leaving Kowloon, it was taken to Hong Kong where it flew to Anchorage, then Louisville, Kentucky, after which it went to Philadelphia, where its just left. It'll be interesting to see where it goes next, hopefully Heathrow
