      Superb series!

They do the same thing in the Oak tree at the bottom of our garden ... but the pigeons seem to prefer the rooftop next door.

BTW - a couple of Long-tailed tits finally decided to pay us a visit yesterday evening! We have a north facing back garden so it was too late and too dark for any decent shots but David managed to grab an acceptable shot. Enough to prove we had them and good enough crop for the records.

We're hoping they'll start visiting regularly from now on.

That's good news. You will have to be quick because they don't seem to stay long at any one time. If you take notice you may be able to predict their visiting times, they do tend to have some sort of an inbuilt schedule to their visits.

These ones surprised us as they didn't clear off even when we went right up to the window. They actually came closer, came closer to use the ceramic peanut feeder after having been pecking at the fat further down the garden.

We were also surprised they stayed for maybe 2-3 minutes - went away then came back a couple of mintes later, though only stayed briefly the second time. I'm hoping they may be nesting nearby. That'd be great!

If I manage to get any shots I'll post something.

                  Nice one Pops.

I know these birds. We got them everywhere here together with their "Pigons" cousins.
I've got two of those birds, must be a couple that coming everyday many times in mt balcony and I feed them. They became so familiar with the time with me and my wife that they sit and we rub them.
From time to time a third one like these coming with them, but looks older. Maybe it is some older relative to them.
Every morning that I wake up and taking my coffee out in the balcony to drink and smoke they instantly pop up. They are watching me from somewhere when I will open my "restaurant" to feed them.

Here is one of my balcony models that they sit quiet and posing in front of the lens

Fantastic Pops. I remember when I was about 19 someone said to us "Sex makes you thirsty!" They were obviously quite dehydrated after all that activity.

BTW, I don't know how you got passed the censor.

That's great George. I'm looking forward to making contact with my pair. Over the past 2 weeks they have come closer and closer. Got them to within a foot of my hand at the moment so hoping it won't be long now.
I'm also having a similar scenario with a Robin.

                            Pops,

They are very friendly once they get the feeling of security that they are in a safe area.
Another thing to do with them is to whistle a melody to them. They listen carefully and surprised. Every time I whistle them a song they do this: They fly and make a circle around me if I'm standing, or make a very short flying close to me and they return back from where they took off (usually the feeding area that they sit and wait for food).
They are really amazing ang and really good friends.
I've got about 20 photos of them, even macros from 10cm distance!

                            Good Luck with the robin!
