Forums are about debate as as much as anything else. I'd already said I wasn't going to take it any further, but if you feel that any of my points were invalid, inaccurate or unjustified, by all means tell me why.

This is Ian's site and he's expressed an opinion, but randomly jumping in as a user on the back of his thoughts is hardly constructive. Some of us like to do more than merely view other people's shots - we like to discuss and debate matters too. You should maybe consider that.

Exactly Tim. It is entirely subjective and I don't know why I'm being questioned for my "subjective" opinion.
I only expressed my opinion initially of which picture from two I prefer like other users did too.

There's a difference between the "I believe........but I respect that others may disagree" approach and the dogmatic "This is how it is.............because I said so" and no amount of posting paragraph after paragraph of justifications will change that. At least, not for me anyway.

Initially I wrote my "I believe...but I respect that others may disagree" without disagreeing or questioning other users opinions.
So, does it really the "This is how it is...because I said so" applies to me?

John, I have to agree with Bearface on this, your comment is hardly constructive. Whilst you may be uncomfortable with reading a full and frank discussion about photography, it is really what a forum such as this is all about. An exchange of opinions in a considered and rational way. There is nothing wrong with putting forward your arguments for or against something. However it is unwise to be dogmatic in the way you express opinions and this I feel is the crux of the discussion here. If you have an opinion or disagree with something then feel free to say so, so long as you can justify it and are not personally offensive.

As Tim has said there are those here who like to do more than simply look at photos.

I've got absolutely no problems with either a perpective correct shot or a wide angled distorted one .
Both work on different levels for me .
I've done the Thames walk many times and love the atmosphere of the south bank , early morning with it's joggers ,cyclists and even beggers and tramps sleeping rough in the subways .
Go over Westminster bridge and you're in Parliament Square and Westminster abbey , a short walk to either Buckingham palace or Trafalgar Sq .
I'll be doing it again in the next month , Tower Bridge to Lambeth Bridge , with a few stops for drinks .
