Well this was a bit of a rescue to a weekend gone bad. I did have Saturday planned out from last Monday. I was going to the moto x, yes I know that again but this time I was going to get there early. Getting there early means I could have signed in and got access to the whole track. The wife was going to work the two kids were out all day so it did not matter what I was doing. Well I should have guessed it was not going to be as our new kitten had not been well. Guess who had to take him to the vet mid Saturday morning . And yes he is ok. So I was not a happy bunny . So I went to see what was happening at the local trials. This is the first time I had taken photos of these guys but it will not be the last. I only took the one lens the 70-200mm BIG mistake as I did not know how close I could get to these guys. Oh well we live and learn.

    Re: Trials

Hi Peter - these are crisp shots, but my only comment is that they lack a sense of action. I know it's tricky as I guess they weren't moving that fast at that particular location, but that's my feeling

Yes I know what you mean they do look as if they are standing sill. Like I said I now know that I can get nearer to the action so that should help next time. I was just trying to make a bad weekend into something better.

They all look stationary but it has bought out the concentration in their faces.

Very crisp shots Peter. I thought that part of the idea of trials was to do with balance and poise. If this is the case then a slower shutter speed probably would not have made any difference.
PS looks like some older guys are enjoying taking part in this sport too, proves its not all for the youngsters

Great photographs and tecnique, but only for the fans, or magazines, very sharp and clearly shows the expressions and concentration, if your a fan "Great" but not for me.

              Hi Mo and Tinka

Yes I think you are right it is a sport that is all about balance. Like I said it was the first time I had been to see these guys in action so was not sure what sort of photos I was going to come away with.I did see them going up a few rock faces when I went to a different beach but only a few did the really big stuff. I guess this is when the action shots would come into it. Oh well we live and learn so maybe next time. I think I will have a look around the web to see how other people do this type of sport and try to learn from them.
