Bird of Paradise

Odd how people look at things
Like a lot of people I used to think that the pointed end of this flower was the 'Beak' of the bird and the yellow petals a head crest but.....

.... the point is the tail, the petals the wings and the base of the flower is the head with a sharp pink beak pointing downward like a humming bird feeding.

I didn't know that! I knew it was a Bird of Paradise though.

It's great to see plants and flowers like these growing in their natural habitats, rather than just in a flower shop!
