You probably will eventually as they are spreading fast. I never saw one here until 5-6 years ago, now they are here every day, sometimes several.

Re: Red kite passes by
There were a group of six of them living near by, a couple of years ago. I photographed them. They were here for here for more than a year.Originally posted by Ian View PostYou probably will eventually as they are spreading fast. Having big roads with plenty of road-kill is an advantage

Re: Red kite passes by
The other day another smaller bird of prey flew quite low over the garden. It had a large fan shaped tale with stripes across it. Probably too small to be a buzzard, so maybe a sparrowhawk or a Peregrine falcon? We're in suburbia but with quite a lot of green wooded spaces nearby. There are plenty of pigeons for food
We're really blessed for wildlife; there was even a bat swooping around last night.

Almost guaranteed to be a Sparrow hawk. Typical of them to fly low over gardens in the hope of surprising small birds.Originally posted by Ian View PostThe other day another smaller bird of prey flew quite low over the garden.
