  • RAF Centenary Flypast

The RAF today flew 100 planes up the Mall to celebrate their Centenary. I wasn't able to go there but the flight path from the airbases in Suffolk was only a few miles north of where I live.
Unfortunately a few thousand others had the same idea and I could not get to the viewpoint I had in mind and I had to settle for the roadside where I was stuck in traffic.
Luckily we has a clear view about half a mile short of the flight path and everything was below the clouds

Not great shots but still worth the effort...

A nice set and I am pleased you were part of the special day for the RAF.

    Thanks for sharing them.

Shame about the clouds, Rab. That's the sort of luck I would have.

But I really enjoyed seeing these. All very well detailed.

      Pleased that you showed them.

I stood on one of the hills around Loughton and only caught the Chinooks going round to join the main group.
My intention had been to go and stand on the railway bridge outside Leyton station and watch them go into London over the Olympic park but things conspired against me.

        Thanks for showing.

I'm having one of those mornings - cloud as far as the eye can see.

House chores this morning instead - doh!

I think some post-processing could improve these if I may most humbly say?

Alas I was 7000 miles away at the time

I think the sky can be lightened a bit and the silhouettes lit and colour enhanced - I'd be happy to have a go if provided with an original out of the camera file? RAW, preferably

Had another go at the post editing, but it was a very dull sky .....
