Another very good shot from the new camera.

Have only seen a couple of Redwing this year, and at a distance.

So my photos were only good enough for identification purpose.

Is it my screen ? Or is there a slight yellowish colour cast ?

The main issue is low Winter sun so I just tweaked the green only, the bird is OK I think as the white on the breast is still white, the facial markings are not normally white but pale yellow as in the original.

This is one I took in November 2016 on Holy Island, notice the facial markings.

Interestingly this one was with Canon 7DII plus Sigma 150-600mm but much closer, I think the Nikon has done an amazing job here.

This image seems to have a very shallow depth of field.

The Redwings Beak, eye, throat and chin are sharp, as are some of the blades of grass in the fore. But the red in the under wing is soft.

This isn't a criticism. Just curious as to what Aperture you were using ?

I believe the depth of field is affected by the sensor size. If both cameras are set to the same aperture, shutter speed and ISO the Nikon will have greater depth of field to the Canon. One of the advantages of the Panasonic FZ330 is that you can get shallow depth of field due to the zoom maintain f2.8 through out its full zoom range. A Handy feature for portrait work. Most zoom lenses reduce the aperture at their maximum length and consequently increase the Depth of Field. The Nikon zoom is f2.8 closing down to f6.5 at full zoom giving quite a deep depth of field.
