We have a pair of Common Buzzard living in and around our village and in Winter they inhabit the rough paddock opposite the front of my house. The paddock contains, among others, an old oak tree that's in it's dying phase and the Buzzards often perch on this surveying the molehills for signs of life, mainly earthworms. Lucky for me this tree can be easily viewed from my bedroom window and although about 100 metres away and there is often a good opportunity to photograph them. 100 metres is quite a long way even for 600mm Sigma lens but my new acquisition of a Nikon P900 Bridge camera, bought specifically for travel is proving very useful in good light. These were taken at the maximum of 2000mm eq. and although at that focal length they are a little soft a little judicious PP soon brings them up to an acceptable level.
