But this guy has seen a few already This was taken at a Christmas street market in Quezon City, Metro Manila, in the Philippines just over a week ago.

I returned last week from a visit to Thailand and the Philippines. Basically, my father passed away last month after a cruel illness that he had to endure for almost exactly three years. At the start, he was living in North Eastern Thailand after marrying locally.

He was very happy there for around 15 years but unexpectedly suffered a massive stroke 3 years ago. At the beginning of this year he was repatriated and lived his final months back home in Blighty. His funeral and cremation were here but his wish was for his ashes to be returned to his adopted town in Thailand, where his wife arranged for a Buddhist funeral.

I attended that ceremony and then travelled on to Manila to see my mother's family there for the first time in several years. So I have a lot of shots from Thailand and the Philippines. You can actually see them in my Instagram presence at:
