  • One for the twitchers!

After 3 weeks recovering from a bleed on the knee (made worse by being on warfarin!), I finally got a short trip out today. Went to the causeway over Abberton reservoir looking for small birds in the bushes but didn't find any . Couldn't manage the walk to the hides unfortunately, although I did make the coffee shop

Anyway, here are a couple of shots of a bird I couldn't ID, so over to you guys again!

    Cheers

(Nearest I can find via Google is African or Chinese goose?)

Two really good shots here StuartR.

Unfortunately, I do not know this bird. I think you got the ID yourself.

I would agree that it does look like an African Goose. Maybe David Morison will know more.

My guess was Chinese Goose (Anser cygnoides) but could well be wrong. It's not a parrot - that I'm sure of.

Definitely has the characteristics of a Chinese Goose but geese are notorious cross breeders so it could be a combination of anything.

Thanks guys. I tried a mainstream bird forum as well and a feral Chinese goose has also been suggested on there.
