A lovely collection, Barr1e - the swan on take-off is another shot (along with, for example, snapping those elusive kingfishers) you have managed that I have yet to accomplish (on the canal at least! - it's a bit easier at a reserve) - well done!

A question for you - I haven't seen any coots for ages. Moorhens everywhere, but no coots. Have you noticed their decline or have they all migrated northwards to your part of Herts?

Thanks Ian for popping in and commenting.

We have a number of coots up this end of the canal - I think they heard you had moved out of your posh offices and so moved further west for us to enjoy.

Anne and I have just returned from meeting up with Aussie friends in Paris who are up here cruising for a month or so in southern France, Italy and Malta.

When I have sorted the many snaps taken I'll post some of the pix.

      Regards. Barr1e
