The Cathedral and Abbey Church of Saint Alban

Anne and I spent a few hours yesterday trying to get some reasonable pictures in and outside of the Abbey. It worked out to be an ill timed visit coupled with the recent publicity of the organists tribute to David Bowie and the sunny weather many folk were there.
This pic is on the other side of where the pipes are proper, although I think it works well.
As Arnie says 'we'll be back!'

You know although this is only about 15 miles from me I've never been here.

It will keep you occupied for a few hours and they have a cafeteria serving cakes, sandwiches and lunch type meals.

I like St Albans cathedral. Bit of a dogs dinner on the outside but nice inside, especially the ancient murals which are pretty rare.

They have recently updated the inside and it is looking very fresh, I agree re the murals.

I returned a few days later as I found I was having trouble with the lighting on my previous visit. I was somewhat surprised at this as Anne had taken a number of images without encountering problems with her EM-10 using similar glass on our first visit.

Anyhow, I finally got what I was after and I hope you find it so too.
