  • A long wait!

I've been trying to get a decent shot of an Otter in Scottish waters for four years and spent many hours in all weathers on favoured rocky shores in my search. I did get a brief glimpse of one at some distance last year but it was only visible for a couple of shots from a cliff top above. This year all my Christmases came together as I managed to come across an old dog Otter hunting close to Glenelg Church. It performed for some time, mainly feeding on shore crabs, and it was while crunching on one of these I noticed that most of it's teeth had been worn down, perhaps that's the way all old Otters go.

A more distant shot of the missing teeth:

Two more Otters were seen during the week but both at great distance.
