  • National Trust - Stowe

Anne and I took advantage of the weather forecast today and visited the National Trust at Stowe.
I have to say we were quite tired when we decided to go and have a snack lunch and coffee before wending our way home.
A most enjoyable few hours walking and photographing. Here are a few from today.

Stowe is beautiful parkland, and I believe Charlie Waite sometimes runs workshops there.

Just take it easy. There's always tomorrow. And if tomorrow doesn't come, you won't have wasted any effort on it.

Would there be enough interest to have a dpnow/e-group outing there? It seems to be a long time since the last one held outside Lunnon.

Nice set of images recording what must have been a very pleasant day Barrie.

I'd be interested, if it were during the week. You'd have to OK it with the NT, knowing their stance on photography.

The sun helped ward off a cold wind to some degree. Whether it was the cold or uneven ground I have spent the last few days with a back problem as Anne has. (Pair of old crocks )

              Thanks for the comments.

I was pleased with our timing - sun in the right place offering lots of shadows and shapes.

I used to organise events such as this, but am a bit reluctant to do so now as I don't know what my health will be like on the day and I don't like driving very far these days.

I know you did John, I attended some and enjoyed them. Mostly run via e-group I remember I organised one in Stamford once, not sure whether you came to that.

I don't know whether interest in such events has waned, they made a good day out.
