    Dear All,

Trying to improve my skills at taking candid photographs of people / people in everyday life. Still not where I want to be. Just sharing a few favourites so far.

All taken with a Leica M and 35mm lens. Apologies for lots of photos but I don't get chance to post often these days

    Best Regards

    Josh

        Re: People photography

I have seen people that do shoots on the streets like shooting a 100 different people. There are a few on flickr. I just would find it hard stopping people. I see the way you are doing it is more street style.

            Re: People photography

Start with Buskers: they are static, usually can draw a crowd if they are any good and, if you can put (say, 50p) into their cup a bit of spare cash, they will usually respond favourably towards you. Then, wait until there's a gap in their act, and offer ( for free, of course) to put pics of them onto fb or other public media. This is good publicity for them, and good practice for you.
I have recently been doing a series on buskers, and - avoiding ones who obviously can't play their instrument and are therefore, basically begging ( in my town we have a problem with people begging who are on hard drugs, and giving them money only makes their problems worse.); it also helps both of you if you offer to send them ( by e-mail only) a photo of them. It can help you ( and ALWAYS copyright the pic you keep of them as well as the one you send, plus one without watermarking, that is sellable, because some buskers go on to become famous in the pop scene.
