Nice shot but I can't help feeling it's more likely to be a sign of a milder winter (so far) than a sign of an early spring.

We have them showing in the hedge along one side of the garden but I don't fancy paddling through the muddy quagmire to get to them. We also have Daffs that are well on their way - poking up through the ever-growing muddy lake.

To say it's soggy out there would be the ultimate understatement.

Probably just wishful thinking on my partalthough it was very spring like yesterday.
Talking of daffs I took this on Christmas eve.

Blimey, that's amazing ... and a bee in the petals too! Was it in a park or was it in your garden? Christmas was quite mild here too but the weather turned the w/e of the 27th.

It was a nice day down here yesterday too, quite mild and with a clear, blue sky. It certainly made up for it overnight and all day today though. It's been chucking it down for hours .. Pigeons with their legs almost fully submerged under water as they grab floating seeds the Starlings are scattering from the feeders.

It was taken in Tower Hamlets cemetery, I've seen daffs before Christmas in the past but wasn't expecting anything as good as this.
In part of my local forest there are Snowdrops nearly out so I'll be out after them next week.
          Not venturing out today though

There are a few Snowdrops quite well up in the garden. The squirrels haven't quite managed to dig up and eat all the crocus bulbs either but they're in the lawn and I'm not about to damage what remains of the squelchy grass to inspect them.

I'm about to crawl back into bed to play Candy Crush on a Kindle Fire (stuck on level 70). How sad and pathetic is that, eh?
